Temple Reflections on 2010

Dear Sai Devotee,

Jai Sai Ram!

Here it is… the end of December, which brings with it both the close of a very eventful year 2010 and the start of January 2011, a transition which will undoubtedly mark the beginnings of yet another spiritually exciting new year for the New England Shirdi Sai Temple and all of its devotees.

As we start the New Year, we take a few moments to look back at some of the memorable moments of 2010 and Thank our Baba for His Infinite Blessings to the temple and its devotee base.

Temple moved to a spacious premise at:

290 Littleton Road in Chelmsford, MA which includes a Prayer Hall, Kitchen and Dining area and a Community Center spread over a 7250 Sq.ft area. This is a single biggest memorable moment for temple operations from its inception back in Dec 2007. Inauguration festivities were spread across few weeks, combined with Annual Palkhi Event which brought so much Spiritual happiness in devotees.

Spiritual Discourses

We had 2 Spiritual discourses by Well known Guruji’s from India, Devotees acquired lot of spiritual knowledge from these discourses.

Dasara and Navaratri Celebrations

We Celebrated Dasara and Navaratri with diversified spiritual and cultural events. Some of the noteworthy spiritual events being: Saraswathi Pooja by kids, Mata Ka Jaagaran, Kanjak Pooja, Samuhik Khadgamala Pooja and Samuhik Lalitha Trishakti Pooja etc. Some of the noteworthy cultural and social programs included Music and Cultural programs by local kids, Garba and Dandia with Professional DJ etc. Navaratri Celebrations were concluded on the 10th (Dashami) day that also happens to be Shri Shirdi Sai Baba’s Maha-Samadhi day with a splendid 3 hour Baba Abhishek and Palkhi procession that brought a feeling of being in Shirdi.

Samuhika Satyanarayana Swami Vratam on Kartika Poornima

In Kartika Masam, Samuhika Satyanarayana Swami Vrat Katha was organized on auspicious Kartika Poornima day. More than 200 Families participated in the pooja. The Temple including the Event and Spiritual teams received fabulous feedback from devotees who participated in the pooja.

Dutta Jayanthi and Temple 3rd Anniversary Celebrations

On Dutta Jayanthi Day, Temple celebrated its 3rd Anniversary with Lord shiva and Sai Baba Abhishek by all devotees.

Charity and Community Service

As a part of Community Giving, We helped Green House School in Salem making greeting cards with home made recycled papers which school sell to raise funds for school administration. Book Donation Drive was organized for “More Than Words” bookstore in Waltham twice in this year. This bookstore helps the underprivileged youth in taking control of their life by completing education and getting themselves jobs. Blood Donation drive was organized through the American Red Cross. A free yoga class has been started every Saturday in the temple which is open to all.

Dollar A Day - Temple Operations Fund

The “Dollar A Day” program launched in September, 2010 to raise funds for ‘Temple Operations’ expenses. The target is to raise a 3 year operation expenses of $300K. This program received an excellent support from our devotees with a pledge of $85K within 3 months of its launch. Thanks to all the donors for your Generous and Kind support.

Bhandara

Every Thursday and Special Festival days, Annadanam/Bhandara is being cooked and served with love and affection to all devotees just like our beloved Sai used to do for his devotees. The very taste of the food is almost as if “BABA” himself was involved in the preparation.

Congratulations and thanks to all the devotees and volunteers for their Dedication, Hard work and Support, which brought us so many
great spiritual, cultural and community events in 2010.

With the enthusiastic support from ever growing dedicated
volunteers and devotees participation we are looking forward to
serve Sai Community.
