"It is our hope to present the Navarasas through the tales of some of the famous female characters in the Indian classics. For example we use Rabindranath Tagore's portrayal of Chitrangada for the Veera Rasa" says Jeyanthi Ghatraju, a co-producer of this show. So how is it working with teachers who practice a different style from your own? "I realized that we can make a beautiful presentation blending Odissi with Bharatanatyam. It has given me an opportiunty to learn so much about Bharatanataym" says Mouli Pal, a Odissi dancer and teacher.
Watching the rehearsals, one can sense the dedication and the joy with which the dancers are choreographing each piece. The music chosen is a blend of Hindustani , Carnatic, Folk and Mordern music that has been created by famous flutist Shri V.K.Raman.
The dancers hope to raise funds for MITHAS through that is known to bring quality classical events to New England.
