Shanker Ehsaan Loy rocked the New England audience live in
the concert ‘Inspiration’ held at Hanover in Worcester on Sunday August 8th,
2010. More than half of the 3000 seat
capacity was filled fans right at 6:00PM.
The show only started at 7:00PM but the audience wouldn’t have regretted
the wait considering the high energy
entertainment they got to experience. After couple of dance sequences by the troupe to set the
stage, Shankar entered and got right to business. He started with the hit “Jhoom
barabar Jhoom†and in fact the audience was swaying to the tune. He then sang the title song from ‘Dil Chahta
hai’. The next number was a tribute to
all the beautiful women in audience ‘Pretty Women’ from ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. It got
all the ladies cheering and dancing to the music. They then performed the title song from ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, listening to the tune live was definitely a
treat. Loy Mandoza on the key board was mind blowing. Shankar Mahadavan aptly said, “It is difficult
to compose simple songs that appeals to general audience and Kal Ho Na Ho is an
example.†Raman Mahadevan, a new face in the group sang ‘Dil Ka Mamla
Hai Dilbar’. Audience got to listen to ‘Chup
Chup Ke Chori Se’ in the gentle voice of Mahalaxhmi Iyer. The energy picked up again
when the group sang ‘Aaj ke Raat’.
Shankar Mahadevan sang the recent hit ‘Maa’ from ‘Taare Zamin Par’. Anusha Mani, another talented voice in their
group, sang the song ‘Sajda’ from the movie ‘My Name is Khan’. It was good to young artists perform and
three cheers to Shankar Mahadevan to encouraging them. That was something noticeable about Shanker
Mahadevan, he gave opportunity to all the artists and recognized their talents. He introduced artists in the orchestra by
asking them to play tunes on their instruments and it was entertaining. Finally he sang his claim to fame ‘breathless’ leaving the
audience breathless. Then came the all
time hit ‘Kajra Re’ which got all the audience in the aisles dancing to the
music. They then performed the patriotic number ‘ Sabse aage honge Hindustani’ leaving
the audience with full energy. Credit goes to BostonBollywood, the local organizers, to
bring the talented artists to New England. The audience will remember the show
for years to come. You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
