Experiencing Peace

Press Release
07/07/2010

The Brahma Kumaris Learning Center for Peace was full to capacity on July 1st as it hosted “Experiencing Peace: An Evening with a Raja Yogi”. This program, like all Brahma Kumaris events, was offered free of charge as a community service. Special guest BK Mruthyunjaya, the Executive Secretary of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University Headquarters in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, India explained to the crowd that there is a missing link in our understanding of our true nature. We identify with adopted, incorrect concepts and ideas. Our natural nature of peace and happiness then disappears, and mental suffering and lack of peace is the result. Regret, anger, greed or other negative feelings create negativity in the subconscious and pull us into this destructive cycle. The vibrations created through these thoughts and feelings disturb the mind and will eventually lead to disease and suffering.

This powerful yogi, who himself radiated strength and silent power, reminded us that only through a connection with Divine energy can we transform the self and learn to cultivate our own intrinsic nature. Raja yoga teaches us to connect with and create only pure and peaceful thoughts, allowing us to emerge our natural consciousness of peace and pure feelings. Through this process, we create a “bank account” of good wishes that we share with our loved ones and spread into the world around us. This type of inner transformation provides the only path to lasting peace in our lives and the world.

The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization acknowledges the intrinsic goodness of all people. It is a worldwide family of individuals from all walks of life who are committed to spiritual growth and personal transformation and believes that inner growth and change are essential for the creation of a peaceful and just world. The Learning Center for Peace is one center in a worldwide network offering a variety of programs on personal growth and spirituality.
