01/19/2010 GREEN CHILI CHICKEN 2 large onions, chopped 1/2 c vegetable oil finely chopped ginger, about 2 tbsp or more 5 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp coriander powder 6 - 8 chicken thighs, skinned and boned Salt and White Pepper corn starch for coating chicken 5 green chilies, chopped coarsely 3 green onions, chopped 1/2 c water 1 tsp sugar 1/4 c soy sauce 2 tsp corn starch In a bowl, blend water, sugar, cornstarch and soy sauce. Toss into the centre of the wok. Remove from heat and stir until it thickens into a sauce. Mix in the chicken into the sauce. Serve with steamed rice and steamed or stir-fried vegetables. Onion - 1 medium sized Tomato - 1 medium sized Cumin/Jeera seeds - 1 tspn Urad dal - 1 tspn Mustard seeds - 1 tspn Turmeric powder,chilli powder,curry powder,coriander powder - 1 tspn each Tamarind paste - 1 tbspn Oil Salt to taste Dice the onions and bell peppers into small pieces.. Take oil in a saucepan and season with the mustard,urad dal and cumin seeds..Then saute the onions for a minute and add the tomatoes..Once they cook add the turmeric powder,chilli powder,curry powder,coriander powder and mix well..After a minute add the tamarind paste and salt..Add water according to the consistency required..
