His recent publication of the fiddle music of Cape Breton's John Campbell will be published this year.
Being an acutely talented musician and one of the foremost disciples of Ali Akbar Khan, the legendary Indian sitar virtuoso, George could have easily chosen an illustrious career path of an immensely successful and popular professional player that he is. It's only the extreme providence of the students at MIT and the larger community of Indian Classical music enthusiasts that he instead chose to dedicate his abundant talent to serve the cause of music at a grassroots level by opting to teach music at MIT, thus exposing generations of music lovers at MIT and beyond to the richness of Indian Classical Music.
