Why did you chose Audit and Enterprise Risk as career opportunity?
Working for a professional services firm enables me to explore various industries, work with different companies and meet with various members of senior client management. Enterprise Risk services is interesting because we deal with various board level issues and help deal with issues to mitigate financial, operational and regulatory risks.
Why did you get involved in the diversity initiatives at your company?
Diversity is the need of the hour and Deloitte has truly recognized this. Strength from Diversity is the one of the firm's core values. Being a person of diverse background myself, I recognize the importance of achieving full inclusion and the difficulties faced by someone of diverse background as they try to assimilate themselves in corporate America.
You seemed to have given a lot of time to mentoring at your
company. Why did chose to give extra time to this effort?
Mentoring is very important to succeed in your career. I have been fortunate to have found mentors, who have been very supportive and a great guiding force in my career. I feel I need to pay it forward.
After the phenomenal success of Durga Zali Gauri, do we have any
other plays in the offing?
Still researching, but no concrete plans at this time.
You are the mom of two kids , successful in your career and very
active in community activities. How do you manage to do it all?
Honestly, everything manages itself if your heart lies in what you are doing. I am very passionate about all the activities I am involved in, be it my work or other community activies. What's equally important, is the unwavering support of your family. Had it not been for the support of my husband and my mom, I don't think I would be able to achieve much.
