Tour Of Temples In USA
August 22, 2009
Pilgrimage has been a practice incorporated into several religions across the globe. In most instances, this spiritual journey is centered on a search for oneness with a Higher Being or personal belief. In the case of Hinduism, many followers make annual pilgrimages to their family deity’s temple to receive blessings.
Overall, this practice has been lost in the United States. Boston community members Radha and K.G. wish to foster this tradition in New England by beginning the first temple pilgrimage. Radha expresses that “this trip is about coming together as a group to share a spiritual experience.†On this journey, three temples will be visited in the course of one day: Sri Satyanarayana Temple in Connecticut, Sri Ranganatha Temple in New York and, the first temple built in the USA, the Ganesha Temple, which is also located in New York.
The cost has been kept to a minimum of $55/person so as to cover the charges of the bus fare, coffee, breakfast, snacks and dinner. Lunch will be provided at the Sri Ranganatha Temple. This is an opportunity you will not want to miss!
