Seven years after its inception in 2003, the VPS Cricket tournament, the most prestigious tournament in all New England is back. With twenty teams signing up to play, and some openings for a few more teams, this event promises to be a gala event for the entire family. The tournament will be held over three weekends(3 Saturdays and 3 Sundays) and begins on the 13th of June. The finals are scheduled on Sunday, the 28th of June.
In addition to the well contested men's tournament, there will be a match for women and Children. These events are scheduled for Sunday the 28th of June. We have provided contact and website information below. The venues for the tournament will be the picturesque Joy Hanlon Fields and the Fore River club field both located in Quincy.
If History is any indicator, this tournament will have some of the most well contested matches, all culminating in a grand finale. The winners of the tournament , the runners up and all outstanding individual performers will all be presented with attractive trophies.
Cricket was a game reserved for the cultural elite back in the days of the British rule in India(the Raj). Today it is a common person's pastime. If you miss the camaraderie and fun you had watching or playing Cricket, this tournament is a must for you. If you are part of a team or wish to join a team, please contact Nikhil at the phone number or email provided below. Please sign up immediately as the number of slots are limited. To those of you who have never seen a Cricket tournament and are just plain curious about this game, you are welcome too.
There are several other perks too. These include children's activities and free meals, courtesy of our sponsors. Team Galaxy X1 was the big winner last year. Who will it be this time? We look forward to seeing you in Quincy.
