Sun and Aging Skin
Have you caught yourself looking in the mirror for a bit longer then usual and catching yourself counting the fine lines, which just started to appear around your mouth and around the eyes? Does that make you think you are getting old? Or may be you started to look like your mother? You can either say I am growing old gracefully or do something about these fine lines that seems to be bothering you, If you look older than you feel it is the time to evaluate the lifestyle and take control over your skin care routine and cleanout the closet with expired skincare products you have purchased three years ago as they have lost all their potency to give any nourishment to your skin .and doing nothing good to your skin. Let’s talk about causes for our skin to age and how wrinkles are formed over the years. Although the process itself is complex and intricate and almost inevitable, skin itself ages in many identifiable ways adding one plan extract or a vitamin to the skin won’t address what is needed to deal with the myriad issues for slowing down the process. A series of extrinsic factors like sun, pollution, free radicals damage, smoking and intrinsic factors like genetically predetermined cell cessation, chronological aging hormone depletion, immune suppression all culminate in what we define as aged skin.
Looking at the issue objectively can help us better understand what is happening to our skin and what can and can’t be done for it .Some small routine changes and knowledge of ingredients in skin care products can reduce the speed of aging skin, you will be amazed how a simple lifestyle change can impact your looks and overall health.
How the skin ages and wrinkles is a very complicated process that involves an almost limitless range of physiological occurrences. As we know that collagen and elastins, the support structure of the skin, breaks down and flatten as a result of repeated sun exposure, they also become less pliant and more hardened with the age, so the skin becomes less elastic.Certain components of the skin also become depleted with age.The water-retaining and texture-enhancinh elements in the intercellular structure structure such as ceramides, hyaluronics acids, polysaccharides, glycerine, and many others and exhausted and not replenished. Older skin is also more subject to allergic reactions, sensitivities and irritation than younger skin due to weakening immune system.
Dry and irritated skin is the main cause of fine lines and mostly caused by sun damaged and hectic lifestyle. Finding a right moisturizer can be confusing and expensive The truth is, moisturizing the skin does not have any long term effect on wrinkles, that does not mean moisturizers can’t make wrinkles less apparent they absolutely do, extremely dry skin can crack and chafe if it isn’t moisturizes with a good moisturizer and can cause a parched appearance. So find a moisturizer that is free of alcohols and chemicals and has emollients, lipids and peptides and a component called natural moisturizing factors, it should be soothing not irritating, any product that causes irritation immediately stop, you are hurting your skin, it can trigger breakout and stress the health of your skin. Drink lots of water that helps keep skin and body hydrated.
One of the fundamental characteristics of wrinkled skin is that the outer layer of the skin becomes thickened caused by damaging sun rays, the abnormal cell growth also results in malformed elastin, collagen deterioration and discoloration of the pigments called hyper pigmentation and brown spots that makes you look older.
There is nothing you can do for your skin at night to change or reduce the effect of sun damage, sundamage is the only daytime aggression you should worry about,BE SKIN WISE. Sunscreen, without question, is the most basic and essential part of any skin-care routine-it plays pivotal role from birth into our old age. Skin of darker ethnicity(Indian) are prone to have more irritation from sun exposure and cause more irritation to the skin causes hyperpigmentaion, so it is crucial to apply sunsreen 365 days on regular basis for a healthy skin.Look for Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide in your sunscreen for protection from UVA and UVB radiation. Ultraviolet Rays affect all layers of the skin causing melanin production to speed up which results in excessive skin pigmentation. Aging skin causes loss of collagen tissue, which results in wrinkles throughout the face and neck area. Different ethnicities and cultures react differently to sun exposure. Southeast Asians for example are exposed to excessive UVA rays, thus causing deeply pigmented skin
