Karen Campbell of Boston Globe wrote in a review of Madhavi Mudgal’s 2005 Odissi performance - “moving mix of elegance, enrichment. Her florid movements a kind of musical sign language that calls to mind trees laden with flowers, a heavily scented breeze, bees buzzing, and lovelorn maidens wandering aimlessly … charismatic Arushi is fabulously expressive and articulate, from her flirtatious eyes to the tips of her long, tapering fingers.â€
Sarah Crompton of The Telegraph(UK) in reviewing Madhavi Mudgal at the Edinburgh Dance Festival wrote, “the delicacy of the micro movements, flickers of eyes and toes that almost go unnoticed, is something to behold - and the music from on-stage musicians and singers was rich and heart-stopping.â€
This is a rare opportunity to see Madhavi Mudgal and Arushi on Sunday, September 28th at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA at 3:00 pm.
