Anoop Kumar 08/04/2008 (This article is sponsored by Monique Kornfeld, Esq.) When Sneha Ullal came into the industry at that time she was termed as an Aishwarya Rai look alike. Her very first film Lucky opposite Salman in Lucky proved to be unlucky for the actress. Despite the film being a moderate success, her career failed to take off. Inspite of doing a few odd films the actress was nowhere to be seen. "I don't care if I look like Ashiwarya. I would like it if people stopped caring too. People should know me as Sneha Ullal, not an Ash lookalike" she had then quoted back then. Sneha repeatedly has tried to prove that she is grown up. She was hardly 16 when she came into films. She tried doing roles beyond her age. She was last seen opposite Sohail Khan in Aryan. When asked about her forthcoming ventures she revealed that she has four films on floors currently. "I am doing Mallika Sherawat once had a showdown with Rangita Nandy, the producer of her film, Ugly Aur Pagli on its sets when it was being shot. Unit sources reveal that, once while they were shooting in a Mumbai film studio, Rangita went upto Mallika on her arrival and told her to hurry up a bit for the day as the studio would not be available for them beyond some two three hours more as there was some technical maintainence going to take place. Co-operating with her producer, Mallika decided to hurry up things and so also were her co-stars and other technicians present on the sets. But as Mallika realised it would be impossible to complete all her scenes for the day at that particular studio, she decided to take the matter in her hand and try help her harried producer out. Mallika then directly went in to the studio authorities to request them to extend the deadline time as it was being problematic for the unit. But she was in for a rude shock when they flatly refused and told her that they would have loved to be but they won't as she has been misrepresented by her producer. They revealed to her that they had given the film production team a sort of an ultimatum to wrap up early in two three hours as the production team had not made payments for the last two days they had shot in their studio. Enraged by the false talk done by Rangita, Mallika went directly to her and lambasted her in front of everyone for painting a wrong picture. All was finally settled down only after Rangita said sorry to Mallika over this matter. As for the shooting, they all had no option but to wrap it all up as soon as possible! Now that Karan Johar has confirmed plans for the release of his Dostana (the film is all set to arrive on 14th November), it has paved way for a pertinent question to be asked. Will Harman Baweja's VICTORY move ahead in order to avoid a clash with Priyanka starrer Dostana? There are a couple of reasons which lead to this question. First and foremost being the 'good friendship' being shared between Harman and Priyanka. Frankly, the two 'friends' won't really be looking forward to their own films clashing with each other at the box office. Of course it is a professional world out there but when it comes to the matters of heart, it only makes sense that the respective films of Harman and Priyanka keep a safe distance from each other. Secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, Bawejas would certainly be looking forward to seriously avoiding yet another LOVE STORY 2050 v/s JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA scenario. Steering clear of speculations that the movie title 'Singh is Kinng' was an assertion of his box office status, actor Akshay Kumar whose recent films have raked in nearly Rs 500 crore worldwide, said megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the real 'King'. "Bachchan has been in the film industry over over 35 years and he is the real king. There are many who are around for 15-20 years and like to call themselves king. There is only one king and he is Amitabh Bachchan. I am merely acting in a film called Singh is Kinng, " Akshay said, without naming Shah Rukh Khan, who is called 'King Khan'. He was speaking at a promotional event of 'Singh is Kinng' which will be released later this week. The reclusive cinematographer par excellence Baba Azmi has finally decided to direct a film. And the one writing the script for Baba is none other than his illustrious brother-in-law Javed Akhtar. Says the reclusive Baba known for his astonishing camerawork in films like Hum Paamch.
