LearnQuest Hosts Indian Classical Music Conference 2008

The Boston based LearnQuest Academy is organising a 5 day long music conference that will feature vocal and instrumental recitals in Hindustani and Carnatic styles of music by acclaimed local and international artists. The academy organised two such conferences in the past two year that were well received by music lovers from all over New England region. The upcoming conference to be held on April 9,10,11,12 and 13 will be its 3rd annual music conference.

The inauguration and opening concert will be held at Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on Wednesday, April 9 between 7:30 pm and 10 pm. On Thursday, April 10, a fusion concert, entitled Confluent Winds featuring music of western instrument Saxophone with music of flute in Carnatic and Hindustani styles and a film show on Hindustani Music, will be held at Al Stata Centre in MIT, Cambridge between 7 pm and 10:30 pm. A Jugalbandi concert combining music on the flute in Carnatic and Hindustani traditions on April 11, Friday evening and all day long concerts on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13 will be held at McDevitt School in Waltham, MA. Internationally acclaimed musicians that include Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Dr. Prabha Atre, Aruna Sairam, Gundecha Brothers, O. S. Tyagarajan and Shujat Khan will be participating in the conference.
