The India Association of Rhode Island celebrated New Years’ Eve on a yacht on Narragansett Bay.  Bay Queen company's largest boat was chartered for the cruise and the crowd in the heated deck warmly cruised through into the new year  2008.

The treat begin with appetizers and Mango lassi  as folks gathered onboard of the yacht around 7:45PM and the boat started sailing soon after. IARI committee members led by Sharad Bhatia warmly welcomed everybody on the deck . 
 

Highlight of the evening was the entertainment program organized by IARI. The program included variety of performances culminating with dance number and finally everybody dancing to the beats of DJ. Shreekant Thaker, Swati Shah, Prakash Chogule, Naishad Shah, Rajiv Gupta, Rashi Gupta, Rebecca Philp and Deepa Philip sang a variety of songs from oldies to new hit numbers. Mr. Sharad Bhatia surprised few on the cruise by wonderfuk rendition of hit number ‘Kaho na Kaho’ from Murder.  

Children performed few dances and the performance of “Khaike Paan Banaraswala”  by Sunny Mehta was highlight of the evening. Rahul Chandar, Gunjun Gupta, Rashi Gupta, Sunny Mehta and Kashav Narsu enthralled the audience with their dance steps.  The floor was opened for everybody and wonderful DJ music continued through the night.  It gave an opportunity for all start their new year dancing with glass on champagne.

The party was well complemented by delectable India buffet on board with enough dishes to satiate everybody.  The evening was concluded by presenting awards to best dressed male and female on board, best dancers and the life of party.

On the whole it was a party not to be missed and a wonderful way to celebrate the New Year ’s Eve. IARI organized a wonderful program that entertained all genres.
