To begin wrapping up the year, I thought I'd share a few cocktails inspired by some of my friends best. The cocktails keep evolving and mixologists everywhere are redefining our tastes for the alcoholic beverage as the drinks

 Best non-alcoholic cocktail of the century:
Shirley Temple
- 4 oz lemon-lime mix
- 3 oz 7-Up soda
- 3 - 5 drops grenadine syrup
- Maraschino cherry

Combine all of these ingredients into a cocktail shaker with crushed ice and shake well. Pour into an iced New Orleans High Ball glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry. Add a coloured umbrella for decoration.

Mediterranean shot put

 Ingredients

10ml crème de menthe

45ml tequila

10ml lemon juice

300ml draught beer

Method

 Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker except the beer and shake with 4-5 ice cubes. Strain into a shot glass. Put the shot glass into  pilsner glass full of beer

Champagne punch -1

 Ingredients

1.2 lt watermelon juice

150ml sugar syrup

100ml lemon juice

1.5lt champagne

ice cues

Method

 In a blender puree the watermelon juice and sugar together. Strain

Add lemon juice and ice

Slowly add the champagne before serving. Garnish with watermelon balls

Champagne punch 2

Ingredients

600ml bourbon

100ml mint syrup

1.2lt pineapple juice

100ml lime juice

1.2lt lemonade

ice

a few lime slices

1/2 bunch mint

Method

Pour mint syrup,lemon juice,sugar syrup in punch bowl and add ice. Add pineappple juice and bourbon, then add some lime slices and mint leaves. Top up with lemonade before serving. Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves

Guava Martini

Guava Juice - 3 measures

Absolute Vodka - 1 measure

Basil leaves and ginger crushed into vodka

 Shake and add ice cubes
