Modern Western Medicine has confirmed the wisdom found in Ayurveda. On October 26, the Maharishi Vedic Health Center at Lancaster, MA (http://www.lancasterhealth.org/) made a presentation to the India Society of Worcester (ISW) in Shrewsbury, MA, entitled, “Ayurveda in the Age of Modern Medicine.†Ayurveda, the world’s most comprehensive and ancient system of natural health care has been raised to its full value of theory and practice in this scientific age by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in conjunction with the world’s foremost experts in both Vedic medicine and modern medicine.
Special speakers were Vaidya Pramod from India and Dr. Steele Belok from Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA. They spoke on “Human Physiology as the expression of the Veda and Vedic Literature†and illustrated their talk using a large screen LCD monitor to display scientific charts.
Vaidya Pramod started by giving an invocation for the seminar and talked about the specialty of Maharishi Vedic Medicine which provides the elements missing from modern medicine, making health care complete by recognizing consciousness as the basis of individual and Cosmic life. Dr. Belok then entertained questions and continued talking until 9:30 PM. Vaidya Pramod finished the presentation by highlighting a few of the profound principles of Maharishi Vedic Medicine which allow individuals to maintain their own good health and prevent imbalance and therefore disease in the body.
One observer commented, “It was one of the most engaging and enjoyable presentations I have heard. There were wonderful questions from the audience and everyone was riveted to the presentation. It went beyond the 9pm limit to after 9:30 PM and people stayed past 10 PM meeting individually with Dr. Belok, and the Vaidyaji.†Ashish, the organizer of the event for the ISW, suggested that maybe Maharishi Vedic Medicine could become a regular part of their scheduled seminars.
