Leader Bank Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

Leader Bank, celebrated its 5th Anniversary under the leadership of
Sushil Tuli, Chairman and CEO, on May 8th with more than 75 people in
attendance. Leader Bank opened its first branch in Arlington, MA and is
the only community bank headquartered there. It opened its Arlington
Center office in 2004 followed by the Central Square office in
Cambridge in 2005.
"We have achieved many important
milestones and realized tremendous growth since my dream of opening a
community bank became a reality. Five people were very dedicated to the
realization of this dream. I worked very closely with my organizers and
board members Nitin Nohria (A Professor at Harvard Business School),
Dr. Donald Korb (A Optometrist in Boston), Eric Silverman (MIT Salon
School Graduate, investor) and Jim McKenna (An Attorney), Don Jennings
(A banker) to make Leader Bank a strong financial institution that we
are celebrating," said Tuli.
Leader Bank takes great pride in
the Arlington Community and has sponsored numerous events including
Shop Arlington First, Feast of the East and Town Day along with
contributing to the Arlington Boys and Girls Club, Fidelity House,
Arlington Children’s Fund, and the Arlington High School Boys and Girls
Hockey Program. In the past five years Leader Bank has grown to over
$200 million in assets.
During the ceremonies, Sushil Tuli and
Leader bank was presented with an Official Citation from the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate by Bob Havern and a Town
Proclamation by the Office of the Arlington Board of Selectmen by Jack
Hurd recognizing his contributions to the city and the state. In
addition, Leader Bank has been a strong supporter of the Indian
American community by being part of TiE, Indian Association of Greater
Boston and various other regional and cultural organizations.
Other
guests included Will Brownberger – State Representative, Stephen
Gilligan – Town Treasurer, Dan Forte – President, Mass Bankers
Association, Pricilla Douglas, PhD Advisory Board Member (used to
be Secretary of Consumer Affairs under Governor Bill Weld), Bob
McSweeney, Advisory Board Member, Carl Famiglietti – CPA, Advisory
Board Member, Nitin Nohria, Board Member, Eric Silverman, Board
Member, Michele Meagher, Executive Director, Arlington Chamber of
Commerce and Christine Dixon – CEO, Visiting Nurses Association.
