Hear their life-transforming journey through the rugged terrain of the Himalayas and Tibet to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. The talks will be presented with illustrations that will highlight the experience. As part of the Annual Summit Meru 2007 events, this year we bring a Weekend Workshop on Yoga and Vaastu called “Rejuvenating your Body, Re-energizing your Home: Yoga and Vaastu for the Modern Professional†which will be conducted by Ms. Sashikala Ananth, Visiting Scholar from Chennai, India. This two-day workshop will be held on Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Wellesley College. In this workshop, Ms. Sashikala Ananth will use both the Science of Yoga and the principles of Vaastu (Science of Indian Architecture) to help us utilize our environment in a mutually beneficial manner. The principles enshrined in the Vaastu tradition help design a spiritually modulated environment for individual and group unfolding. Vaastu is the outer expression of a deeply meditative mind, to unleash individual creativity, a deep love for life, and to create a synchronous balance. To achieve this, the two traditions of Yoga & Vaastu will be explored to design homes and work environment in a way that is harmonious with one’s personality and enhances one’s energies. This workshop will help you integrate the benefits of Yoga and Vaastu for your own personal well-being. The objective of the course is to introduce modern science as it relates to the scientific concepts of yoga of Ancient India. As yoga becomes popular, do we really understand the concept of Kriya (action) and Yoga (union)? Learn about the meaning and the scientific basis of Kriya Yoga and its analogy between modern and ancient scientific concepts, its connections with the body, mind, matter and metaphysics. The course will cover both the theoretical and practical aspects of Kriya Yoga and highlight the connections between the body, mind, sound, and light in doing Yoga. Furthermore, it will also cover some aspects of Indic civilization and languages.
