Rajan Zed Selected For The Board Of Directors Of Nevada World Trade Council

Rajan Zed of Reno, Nevada, has been selected for the Board of Directors of Nevada World Trade Council (NEWTRAC), Nevada’s international trade organization. He was a journalist in India before migration to USA.
NEWTRAC, a non-profit professional business organization, encourages and supports Nevada’s economic diversification and growth by further developing state’s international business opportunities, and provides resources, knowledge, and skills necessary to conduct global trade.
Rajan Zed, who serves on the Governing Board of Directors of Northern Nevada International Center, is also a fellow of The Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Britain. He has also served on Editorial Board of Reno Gazette-Journal, a Gannett newspaper; Board of Directors of Washoe County Library Foundation and California State Employees Credit Union. He has been Academic Senator in the Academic Senate of San Jose State University, California; represented College of Business Administration in the Graduate Student Association of University of Nevada-Reno; was member of the Health Curriculum Committee of Fremont Unified School District in California; and has been member of the University Planning and Budget Committee of University of Nevada-Reno. He volunteers as a Chaplain in the Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Hospital and other hospitals of northern Nevada.
Zed is active in various community and professional organizations, including Society of Human Resource Management, American Society for Information Science and Technology, APICS—The Educational Society for Resource Management, The Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study, India Association of Northern Nevada, The American Scandinavian Foundation, Finlandia Club, World Congress of Faiths, etc. He has received Volunteer Achievement Award from California Credit Union League, Meritorious Service Award from California State Employees Credit Union for distinguished service on its Board of Directors, Presidential Sports Award, Best Journalist of the Year Award, and has been honored by Graduate Student Association of University of Nevada-Reno for contribution to students and the university. He possesses MBA from University of Nevada-Reno and Master of Science in Mass Communications from San Jose State University, California.
He lives in Reno with wife Shipa, a community volunteer; son Navgeet, President of University of Nevada-Reno International Club; and daughter Palkin, a youth activist and accomplished author of two published books.
