(This article is sponsored by Monique Kornfeld, Esq.) Tattoos are the latest in-thing in
Bollywood and after Urmila Matondkar sported one, Esha Deol now joins
the club. The actress shocked all and sundry at the music launch of
Zayed Khan's forthcoming film "Rocky" this week by sporting a Gayatri
mantra tattoo on her right shoulder and an Om on her left and said it
was not planned. Esha got them done by Ronni Froberg of Funky Monkey
fame. She happened to know him through her hair stylist Peri Patel who
introduced Esha to him about two years ago. Apart from Esha and Urmila,
the other actor who is proud of his tattoos is Sanjay Dutt.
Horoscope trouble, Big B's denial and
lately media speculation.... Abhishek-Aishwarya romance has survived
all the troubles and now flourishing in Chennai. The two seem to be
enjoying their shooting stint in the southeren city for Mani Ratnam’s
Guru where they made their public appreance after a long gap.Oblivious
to any media attention, they visited the cancer ward of a local
hospital where they spent time with the children. Just after their
return from IIFA in Dubai the two were spotted at Sathyam Cinemas in
Chennai where they watched two back-to-back films, Mission Impossible 3
and X Men 3.
Bollywood beauty Bipasha Basu is
definitely keeping her pants on. No, she wasn't asked to pose
nude, merely to wear a skirt for her role as an executive in director
Madhur Bhandakar's new film. Still, "Bips,'' as she's known in
Bollywood, wanted nothing to do with it. "Madhur wanted me to
wear something else. But I was adamant - no taking off my pants,'' Basu
told a newspaper in an interview.
The Hindi film industry has spoken
out against the dastardly terrorist attacks on Mumbai. And like most of
the world, Bollywood too says Mumbai should take a bow for the unity it
has shown. "What has happened is really sad and tragic. The
people behind this are just showing how cowardly they are," said Aamir
Khan. "The authorities should take the strictest action against them.
We should bounce back, but I don't think that we should forget the
tragedy."
Until recently it was impossible for
two actresses to get along well. No more so, it seems. Kareena who had
spats with Bipasha Basu during Ajnabee now gets along with every other
heroine that she works with. During Abbas-Mustan's Aitraaz
Priyanka Chopra and Kareena hit it off like a house on fire. The two
ladies have just returned from a live concert together at Antwerp.
Malaika Arora and her Amrita (who's Kareena's best friend) also
accompanied the all-female entourage.
While the John-Bipasha relationship
is right now the talk of town and under intense media scrutiny, biker
boy John quietly slipped out of town - to avoid the sudden interest in
his personal life, claimed the gossip mill. But the actor is actually
shooting right now in Cape Town. "After the stage shows abroad he
returned to Mumbai, spent some time with his parents, before flying off
to South Africa for the shooting of his film. It was a prior
commitment," says a source close to the star. So luckily, the actor
will be spared the trouble of explaining an alleged troubled
relationship.
In a mostly sold out show, A. R.
Rahman is scheduled to perform in the Hollywood Bowl, in Hollywood,
California on Sunday, July 16th. Some of the Indian artists performing
along with him are Sukhwinder Singh, Hariharan, Sadhana Sargam,
Madhushree, Naresh Iyer, Rajesh Raman, Sivamani and Anisha Nagarajan.
