After the hit tracks of Minale and Kaakha Kaakha, this Kamal Hasan starrer once again brings director Gowtham Menon and music director Harris Jayaraj together to produce a pretty good album. The lyrics by Thamarai and the vocals of the fabulous singers featured in this album makes this a track you will definitely want to listen to .
The album opens with Karka Karka (Devan, Tippu, Nakul, Andrea). Starting with a soft rap the number moves on to the wonderful vocals of Devan and Andrea. There is enough percussion in the number to make you want to dance to it. A fun number that could potentially hit the charts.
The famous classical musician Bombay Jayshree sings the next number Partha Mudhal with Unni Menon. Harris creates a smooth blend of classical and Kollywood music to highlight the powerful singing talent of Bombay Jayashree. Unni Menon’s voice blends beautifully with Jayashree making it a sweet romantic number. Candlelight anyone?
A melodious number, Manjal Veyil features Hariharan, Vijay, Nakul. Harris uses mild orchestration leaving the emphasis on the vocals. A lovely fusion of western and classical music helps set the right mode for the lyrics. While it is not outstanding a nice pleasant number.
Yet another soft and soothing number by Mahalakshmi and Srinivas, Uyirilae again does great justice to the lyrics. Srinivas’s vocals are fabulous and Mahalakshmi has provided the perfect support to Srinivas.
The album ends with a hip-hop number Nerupae featuring the young and happening singers Faranco, Sholar Sai and Sowmya Raoh. Sowmya Raoh does a great job with this number which would be a hit with the youngsters. Harris Jeyaraj has done a wonderful job in this short but sweet soundtrack. Some of these tunes may hit the Kollywood charts.
