Dhak, Dhak Karne Laga - Heartthrobs in New England

After weeks of anticipation May 19th finally arrived to the relief of all Hrithik fans and we were able to see our favorite hero in person! With hearts-a-beating we all landed at the Worcester Centrum to meet with angels from Bollywood. The anticipation was prolonged by the show starting almost an hour late! But finally it happened.

"I feel blessed that I was there to see my hero! Well at least Hrithik was my hero until I saw Arujn Rampal!" was the comment from many a young woman! The show was fabulous! This was one of the most interactive events that I have been to. Each and every one of the participants made an attempt to mix with the crowd and a number of them even came down from the stage. I had no idea until the last moment that the gentleman dressed as a Sikh and wearing a fake beard sitting next to me was actually Arjun Rampal who suddenly "happened" to be called on stage! If only I had known!

The stars of the show included Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Aftab, and Arjun. Hrithik pleased everyone by dancing the entire “Ek Pal ka Jina” sequence. Most of the other dances were medleys. Kareena Kapoor and Karishma Kapoor understandably had hearts "a-beating" and feet "a -thumping".

Rageshwari was the emcee for the evening and entertained the audience with a few good jokes. As is usual, a lot of objects got thrown to the audience! A friend of mine got Hrithik’s eyeglasses (which is currently in his museum of completely useless but adorable things) and another received a heart shaped pillow!

Now folks how does one get on stage? Many believed in the rule "they with the poster will be called" and spent hours putting posters together (spending more time on it than school projects - don't tell mom!). But that rule has been debunked! So save your time and do your homework instead!

There were the fortunate few who were called up on stage and were even presented with an electric guitar and invitation to dinner! But unfortunately I was not one of them! I guess I have to satisfy my self with my only claim to Bollywood fame – Yes folks it is true ! I once danced with Amisha Patel ! Wish it was Arjun Rampal – but that will have to wait for another time.
