Sushil Tuli, President and CEO of Leader Bank recently hosted a reception in honor of Attorney General Tom Reilly, who is running to be the next Governor of Massachusetts. “Tom is a friend of the Indian-American community,” said Tuli as he introduced the guest of honor to a crowd of more than 50 people.

Tom grew up in Springfield, MA and he was 16 when his father died. His mentors in life were his mother, who strongly believed in him, and a police officer cum family friend, who instilled a sense of discipline and hope in him. After graduating from Boston Law School in 1970, Tom started his own practice as a trial lawyer and with time his firm grew to 15 people. Tom has worked for years to bring people together to make the schools in Massachusetts safe.

“It is a pivotal stage in state’s history,” said Reilly. “People expect truth their leaders, which is not the case in Massachusetts. The state has lost 170K jobs and is the only state in the country which has lost population in the last two yearly censuses. This is not good and we are not working together.”

“Modern economy is based on education and I am committed to improving the public higher education at all levels from community colleges to the UMass system,” said Reilly. He supports universal health care while reducing costs by better disease management and more emphasis on preventive care. According to Reilly, “Businesses currently need a supporter, someone who will cooperate and is committed to the Massachusetts and its future.” In addition, he favors income tax rollback, charter schools and fiscal responsibility.

Finally, “Tom is one who listens to issues and one who is easy accessible to the community,” said Attorney Neil Sherring, who once worked under Tom Reilly at Assistant District Attorney.
