November is the family and friend’s month and
packed with festivities. Diwali get together’s with Mithai and
fireworks, Eid gatherings with Sheer Korma, and the upcoming
Thanksgiving makes it a period of festivity. Even when the days gets
shorter and the trees slowly lose their colorful leaves, there is no
moment than now to partake in the various events and shows going on in
and around Boston.
On
a more somber note, we talked to Shahid Ahmed Khan on the efforts made
by the community for the Pakistani Earthquake. He told us a story on
how 12 children were discovered under the debris because of hypothermia
due to the winter chill. It is indeed a heartrending tale ! There are
miracle stories of survival too but the magnitude of this problem
requires patience, perseverance and generosity.
A commendable and valuable addition to the community is the free health stop at Shrewsbury
started by IMANE and ISW. Read all about what it offers in this issue.
We feature the events at the Gurunanak Gurdwara, the scintillating
concert review of T.N.Krishnan, Saheli, the women support group 5K
walk, Diwali celebrations.
