Ranjani Saigal 07/28/2005 (This article is sponsored by Sounds Of India) Year: 2005 Boney
Kapoor’s new offereing, No Entry starring Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan,
Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitley
has been nearly two years in the making. Despite the star cast the film
has not received much publicity. Anu Malik’s music, while not stellar
is likeable and promises to facilitate a few good moves on the dance
floor. With stars like Bipasha Basu , Lara Dutta and Salman
Khan ever-ready to take his shirt off one expects some hot and
sizzling numbers and the music tracks seem to be designed to fit such
scenes. Malik has assembled some of the best voices in the playback
singing duniya and they carry the album on their shoulders. The
album opens with an amusing number – the title track , “No Entry†where
the versatile Sonu Nigam and Alisha Chinoy team up to produce a
snazzy and upbeat track. It promises to be a hit on the dance floor and
the music makes good use of the special singing style of Alisha and
Sonu.. It seems like in the new century a track without
English titled song just won’t sell and this album also includes a song
titled song “Just Love Meâ€. The lyrics are absolutely idiotic (seems
like a theme in the album) but Sonu Nigam carries the song with his
amazing talent. My all time favorite young singer Sunidhi
Chauhan partners with K.K to create a spicy number Ishq Mein. The tune
is nothing out of the ordinary and fails to catch one’s attention.
Alisha follows with “Why Whyâ€. Her voice is perfectly suited to the
seductive tone of the song and it does hold some promise. The
track gets “hotter†with “We are Hot Hot Very Hot†with Sunidhi
Chauhan, Alisha Chenoy and Vasundra Das coming together to provide the
vocals. I am still trying to make sense out of “kaliyug ki laila
hai hum , Kyon humko aye sharam†!!!! But hey it is “Hot Hot†so who
cares??? The stars of playback singing Kumar Sanu and Udit
Narayan come together for “Kahan Ho Tumâ€. Once would expect great
things in a song featuring such giants, but it is an extremely average
number. Anu Malik certainly missed the boat on exploiting the talent of
this duo. The next track does slightly better. “Dil Pagal Hai†brings
Kumar Sanu, Kay Kay and Alka Yagnik together but it is a routine number
which hardly creates any impact. The last track has a nice beat
to it and Alisha Chinoy and Sunidhi Chauhan do produce something that
could potentially hit the Bollywood charts albeit for a brief moment.
The singers are fabulous and the No Entry is likeable because of their
talent. The peppy beat will appeal to the youngsters on the dance
floor but on the whole the album will not live long in the memory of
the listeners! You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
