Wah India 07/12/2005 After Shah Rukh Khan playing the sutradhar in Khalid Mohammed's Silsiilay, now music director Anu Malik is doing the honors in Firoz Nadiadwala's Deewane Huye Paagal. Deewane Huye Paagal stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Shahid Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever and Rimi Sen. He has been a regular musician in Nadiadwala’s films like Awara Pagal Deewana, Aan and the upcoming Phir Hera Pheri. With this Anu Malik will add one more profile on his resume - that of a narrator. After Ram Gopal verma, It’s turn for other producers and directors to keep the storyline of their films a secret! You must have realized by now that Ramu doesn’t disclose the story of his films before the release and the story line is limited to two sentences. Sanjay Gupta has decided to do a similar thing. He has taken a written undertaking from the principal star cast of ZINDA [Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley] that they wouldn't reveal any information about the film till Gupta asks them to. That includes everything pertaining to ZINDA. Let’s wait and watch whether being secretive helps Sanjay’s film, as it does for Ramu. In the first of it's kind, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced a tie-up with film maker Rakesh Roshan's Flimkraft Productions India Pvt Ltd for his upcoming film 'Krrish'. According to the deal Roshan will shoot close to 60 per cent of 'Krrish' in Singapore with the STB facilitating the logistics support and ground requirements for the filming. The board believes that the tie up will lead to accelerated tourism as Indian cinema has a strong following across India and it is an extremely powerful force in shaping the views and opinions of the population. It seems that after the season of remixes, the seasons of remakes are envogue After considering the remake of yesteryears big hit Don and Umrao Jaan, it’s now Ram Gopal Verma’s turn to make a remake. Riding high on the success of Sarkar, Ram Gopal Varma is all set to realise one more dream. The filmmaker has planned a remake of Sholay - a film close to his heart and one of his all time favorites. The remake will be titled, Ram Gopal Varma Ka Sholay and instead of being located in Ramgarh the film will be located in Varma's favourite, Mumbai underworld. The legendary Gabbar will not be a leader of dacoits but an urban don. Varma says that Godfather and Sholay have always been his favorites and after the remake of one got successful, he couldn't resist remaking the other. The film will feature fresh faces. We hope this too is a big hit at the box office. After SRK's painting exhibition, it is our big “B†who has been captured on the canvas and this one is up for grabs. A Kolkata based painter , Wasim Kapoor's painting "Great Expectation" frames Amitabh in the Sky with some street children standing below. The idea stuck him when he saw the screen legend on a UNICEF ad for the pulse polio campaign last year. The artist is now waiting for the actor to sign the painting before the auctioning can begin, the proceeds of which will fund various projects for street children across country. Kapoor has also finished a 45 paintings collection of screen goddesses like Meena Kumari, Nutan, Madhubala, Hema Malini, Suchitra Sen, Rakhee, Dimple Kapadia, Rekha and Zeenat Aman. Actors Suniel Shetty and Priyanka Chopra accompanied music director Anand Raaj Anand for a show recently to the Caribbean, a place that doesn't usually swing to Bollywood beats. For once the locals switched from the calypso beat and actually brought the house down dancing to the filmi numbers, much to the delight of the actors. The people there went crazy with the foot-tapping Bollywood numbers. This took place in a small auditorium, which witnessed about 10,000 people. The show was a great success and the organisers wished they had done it on a larger scale. With this we can say that apna Bollywood conquers yet another place on the map.
