My motherland India is a land divine,
Where children twinkle and people shine.
But it is beset with many ills,
Which are destroying the people's wills.
It is covered with ignorance and illiteracy,
Because of misgovernance and other fallacies.
A land where there is no ignorance and literacy has spread, this is the India of my dreams.

Overpopulation is a huge devil,
Which is eating all the resources and spreading evil.
Leaving nothing for growth and progress,
Goddess Literacy should send messengers for this wrong to redress.
A land where population is controlled, is the India of my dreams.

Overpopulation and illiteracy causes poverty,
Sleeping on pavements, the poor have no respect and liberty.
A land where poverty is minute, a land filled with happiness and comfort, is the India of my dreams.

Communalism is evil but followed by most of the people in India,
Thousands of people are injured and hundreds killed,
A land of peace, unity, love and brotherhood, is the India of my dreams.

The biggest frankenstein of India is pollution,
Now it has got no solution.
A pollution-free land is the India of my dreams.
