is an accomplished Concert Pianist and Composer with a special command
on all Western and Indian Classical and semi-classical notes. His
career has ranged from the the classical to the Jazz to moderm Pop-Rock
(Western and Indian). Adnan Sami has won many International Awards
inlcuding the "Nigar Award", "Bolan Academy Award", "Graduate Award"
etc. He was given a "Special Award of U.N.I.C.E.F." and a United
Nations Peace Medal for a song he wrote and performed for Africa. He
was invited as a member of the jury of the prestigious music festival
"Voice of Asia" competition held annually at Almaty, Kazhakstan. This
jury comprises of top music composers of the world. Sunidhi Chauhan
Most remember her as the little girl, complete with frills and bows,
who walked the stage at a talent search music show on TV , awed the
audience, and walked away as the winner of the mega finals. The
full-throated voice was nothing like that of the child-girl who had
finished the impressive rendition; not in the least bit nervous or
self-conscious among people twice as older. The resonance and richness
that rang out in her voice left no one who heard her in doubt that it
was that of a sure fire winner. But to Sunidhi Chauhan, what mattered
most was that show would give her a chance to meet the legend, Lata
Mangeshkar. Sunidhi took to music simply and effortlessly as a
toddler and after assurances from friends her father realised that this
was no ordinary child. She picked up complex classical tunes with ease
and sang without a glitch. To provide her with a more conducive
environment, the family shifted base to Mumbai from Delhi. In the mean
time, Sunidhi continued to perform on stage and rake in the awards and
laurels. She was also part of renowned composer Kalyanji's Little
Wonders troupe for child prodigies in music and regularly performed at
shows. However, the TV show Meri Aawaz Suno was Sunidhi's
first far-reaching public performance and winning the mega finals
brought her further in to the limelight. As part of the winner's
package, the young singer was promised an album with HMV. The album she
eventually recorded, Aira Gaira Nathu Khaira, however was promoted as a
kids album and it didn't quite portray the true range of Sunidhi's
mature voice. Her debut recording was for the film Shastra,
for which she sang the racy number Ladki deewani dekho. Her big break
came a few smaller assignments later, when she was recommended to
composer Sandeep Chowta for Ram Gopal verma's Mast. The three songs
that she recorded for the film created quite a stir on the film music
scene and offers began to come her way. The young crooner is
now training in Indian classical music to fine tune and improvise her
skills. And not only that, she is just about as passionate about
Western music as she is about Desi tunes. She attends school and
is determined to complete her basic academics. The singer has also
bagged the R D Burman award for most promising newcomer at the Filmfare
awards 2001. It's time one called her a playback singer who's making
some serious waves Amisha Patel,

gorgeous looking girl who will charm her way into the audience's heart
with her twinkling eyes and effervescent smile. Started Amisha is
a person who is committed to doing good projects as she is not in films
for the lure of fame and fortune, what with her coming from a very
affluent background herself. Her grandfather was the famous Rajni
Patel, the man who was none less than the right hand of Mrs.
IndiraGandhi. She very candidly admits that a heroine does not have
much to do in a film unless she has carved a niche for herself in the
market. Raghav’s story doesn’t need sexing up” The Times WINNER for ‘BEST COLLABORATION’ at the MOBOS 2004 WINNER at the ASIAN ACHIEVERS AWARDS 2004 LISTED IN TOP 50 SOUTH ASIAN ACHIEVERS by the Australian Press
Raghav is a young member of the new multiculturally rich world. The 23
year old first generation Canadian (his family originally from
Uttarpradesh in India), was brought up in a trilingual community and
speaks English, French and Hindi fluently (if with the subtlest hint of
Canadian). Raghav studied Indian classical music with Guru Nishi Kant
Bali from the tender age of five, grew up singing in his local temple
and, in school, excelled in the local choirs and performing in
musicals, leading to school years crammed not only with study but also
national tours of Canada and international tours of Europe.
Raghav began writing music when he was 15, heavily influenced by the
pop R&B music filtering across the border from America. One of his
early compositions won an award for top original song from the National
Songwriters Association of America. … He was 16.
Understandably, Raghav went on to receive offers of scholarships from
many music schools across America but chose, at 17, to move to L.A. on
his own to study with the great Seth Riggs, vocal coach to, amongst
others, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. For the last 3
years he has made his home in the UK, studying at the Liverpool
Institute for Performing Arts and working with diverse musicians, djs
and producers, fine honing his own sound. During his time in college he
joined R&B band 11/7 which was nominated for a Mobo for best
unsigned artist. 11/7 did not win, but the nomination was enough to
bring Raghav a communal heads up from the watching music types and led
to a solo management deal and an introduction to the highly influential
Sly & Robbie and British R&B producer Mushtaq. It was
when Raghav began working with Sly & Robbie and Mushtaq that he
finally began to settle on the sound and style that has become his own,
embracing the myriad of musical styles and cultures that have come his
way.. R&B, Asian, a little bollywood and a little rap…English and
Hindi lyrics blending into a magnificent multicultural jamboree – a
fusion of the best of his influences into his own unique sound.
Soon after, he signed with A&R Records whilst simultaneously
working with the inspirational DJ producer, 2play, co-writing and
performing on two singles ‘It Can’t Be Right’ (Inferno Records) and ‘So
Confused’ and releasing his own debut ‘Can’t Get Enough’. All three
tracks headed straight into the UK top ten. With a minimum of
mainstream fanfaring and a maximum of underground buzz, Raghav, by June
of this year had already spent a total of 8 weeks in the top 10 and
gained a huge urban following nationwide. In the last half of
2004, Raghav became one the first artists ever to perform on the newly
erected Brasian Stage at Glastonbury, headlined the UK-wide,
arena-filling Mela’s, visited India for the first time to perform at
the MTV Style awards and witness his album go platinum there and
returned to chalk up his fourth smash hit of the year with his second
solo single ‘Let’s Work It Out’ – also going on to win both an Asian
Achievers Award and his first Mobo. New single ‘ANGEL EYES’ is out on A&R/V2 Records on February 7th, taken from Raghav’s sublime debut album ‘STORYTELLER’. Sultry Shefali
