1974 - Majboor
with Amitabh Bachchan- Amitabh Bachchan played a tumor patient in
Ravi Tandon’s film with a taut script by Salim –Javed. The song ‘Dekh
sakta hoon main kuch bhi hote huey nahin main hnahin dekh sakta tujhe
rote hue’ from the film, had the audience reaching for their hankies.
1975 – Yash Chopra’s Deewar defined Parveen Babi’s new image as the bohemian Indian woman who smoked and flouted convention.
1977- Amar Akbar Anthony with Amitabh
Bachchan – Parveen was by now the heartthrob of millions of
Indians. Her pairing opposite Bachchan (Anthony) in AAA made her the
most popular among the three heroines in the film. The other two were
Shabana Azmi (Amar-Vinod Khanna) and Neetu Singh (Akbar- Rishi Kapoor)
1979- Suhaag with Shashi Kapoor –This tale of twins separated at birth had Amitabh paired against Rekha and Shashi with Parveen Babi.
1981 - Kaalia with
Amitabh Bachchan- Bachchan played a simpleton, who turns to a life of
crime to support his family when his brother is injured at the mill
where he works.
1981- Meri Awaaz Suno with Jeetendra - Parveen Babi reached the pinnacle of her popularity with aan interestingly dark-shaded role in Meri Awaaz Suno (1981)
1982 - In Namak Halal with Shashi Kapoor. Parveen Babi dazzled audiences with her two cabaret numbers, Raat baaki and Jawani jaaneman. 1982
1982 - Ashanti - with
Mithun Chakraborthy was directed by Umesh Mehra. Parveen Babi held her
own in this film even though she was pitted against Bollywood biggies
Zeenat Aman, Rajesh Khanna, Mithun and Shaban Azmi.
1982- Khuddar with Amitabh Bachchan – This Ravi Tandon directed action/drama/comedy had Parveen Babi acting with Bachchan and Bindiya Goswami.
1983 - Rang
Birangi with Amol Palekar - Amol Palekar is happily married to Parveen
Babi, leading an uneventful, monotonous life till his high flying p[al
Deven Verma blows into town. The film also starred Deepti Nawal,
Faroukh Sheikh and the late Utpal Dutt.
Parveen
Babi also starred in Vinod Pande’s Yeh Nazdeekiyan with Marc Zuber and
Esmayel Shroff’s (Dil Aakhir Dil Hai with Naseeruddin Shah.
