India is the birthplace of four major world religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikkism. All through history, Indians have always carried their spiritual traditions with them wherever they have moved. The religions that traveled with the people have taken roots in other countries and evolved over the centuries by adding local color. New England itself has several Hindu and Buddhist temples, Gurudwaras and Jain centers established during the past few decades.

The Hindu Heritage day is an annual gala event and this year the day is a celebration of the "Unity in Diversity" concept where people practising different religions and people from different countries come together to explore the inter-connected nature of their religions and traditions.
