Changemakers Connect: A Celebration of Impact and Collaboration

This past weekend, Vibha Boston had the honor of hosting Changemakers Connect: A Nonprofit Networking Event, a gathering of passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference. Held in celebration of India Giving Day, this event brought together nonprofit leaders, volunteers, and changemakers committed to driving impact in education, healthcare, community service, and more.

A Day of Inspiration and Collaboration

The evening kicked off with a warm welcome from Sumana Hatwar, Executive Director of Vibha Boston, who set the stage for a meaningful afternoon of connection and shared purpose. She reminded us that real change happens when people come together with a shared vision.

We were privileged to hear from Nirmala Garimella of the India Philanthropy Alliance (IPA), who highlighted the incredible work of India Giving Day in mobilizing support for transformative initiatives across India.

We heard from Heena Bhatt, Director of Communication and Media, about how Vibha is transforming education for underprivileged children through strategic partnerships, data-driven solutions, and grassroots initiatives. With a reach of over 6.3 million children, Vibha continues to pave the way for educational empowerment and invites attendees to join this transformative journey.

The event featured inspiring presentations from incredible organizations working tirelessly to uplift communities:

  • Ekam USA – Providing quality healthcare and livelihood support to those in need.

  • Sewa International – Uplifting communities through disaster relief, education, and healthcare initiatives.

Each speaker shared their organization’s mission and impact, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change.

The Power of Education: The Audacity to Dream

A highlight of the evening was the screening of The Audacity to Dream, an inspiring film showcasing the transformative power of education. The documentary follows Manisha, an 11-year-old girl from rural Tamil Nadu, whose life is changed through Vibha’s foundational English initiatives. The film served as a powerful reminder of why we do what we do—because every child deserves the chance to dream.

Keynote Address: Dr. Chintan Vaishnav

We were honored to welcome Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, former head of the Atal Innovation Mission and a leader in socio-technological innovation. His keynote address inspired us with insights into the intersection of technology, policy, and social impact, reinforcing the importance of education and innovation in shaping a brighter future.

Recognizing Our Volunteers: The Presidential Volunteer Service Awards

Volunteers are the backbone of every nonprofit, and we were proud to honor several outstanding individuals with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). Their dedication and hard work have played a pivotal role in Vibha’s mission, and we celebrate their contributions in driving change. Nisha Dave, Heena Bhatt, Sumana Hatwar, Pushkar Phatak, Sandhya Lohithakshan, Ruchi Suhane, Chandrala Malkood - these individuals have gone above and beyond in their commitment to making a difference!

Thank You for Being a Changemaker!

As we wrapped up the event, we reflected on the connections made, the ideas shared, and the collective impact of our work. Changemakers Connect was more than just an event—it was a movement. A movement of people who believe in the power of giving, collaboration, and action.

A heartfelt thank you to our partners, speakers, volunteers, and attendees for making this gathering a success. Your passion and commitment fuel the change we wish to see in the world.

Let’s continue working together to create opportunities, uplift communities, and transform lives.

With gratitude,
The Vibha Boston Team
