Archan Basu

Archan Basu has lived in Lexington since 2013 with his wife Madeline Wang and 2 children who attended Estabrook, Diamond and LHS.

Commitments in town have included MLK Day of Service (many years as trained facilitator) and IAL Education subcommittee (assisted with curricular review and reform).

Career investor with leadership roles at Fidelity, JP Morgan, others. 

Graduate of Harvard and MIT; won top group awards for alumni fundraising and engagement.

Lifelong listener and learner. Known for financial acumen and for balancing innovation with community values.

Sudhir Jain

Greetings, Lexington residents! I'm thrilled to stand for Town Meeting Member, bringing a rich background to uplift our community. Over 12 years, I held the position of VP and pioneered multiple startups in India. Armed with a 1971 Metallurgical Engineering degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, I offer a unique lens on economic development. Residing in Lexington for 9 years with my wife, children, and grandchildren, I'm deeply committed to our town's welfare.

In the spirit of community, I actively contribute to Council on Aging (CoA), Friends of Council on Aging (FCOA), Transportation Advisory Committee, and Minuteman Senior Services Board of Director. My unwavering commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion has propelled initiatives improving seniors' lives. I'm determined to continue cultivating a vibrant, inclusive town. With your support, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve as your representative, ensuring Lexington thrives for all. Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility!

Vineeta Kumar

Select Board candidate Vineeta Kumar brings over a decade of proven community leadership, having served as a Town Meeting Member from two precincts for 8 years, LHS PTO President, and Lexington Education Foundation Board Member. As former Chair of the Town Meeting Member Association (TMMA) and two-time Select Board appointee to the Town Manager Search Screening Committee, she has demonstrated her commitment to town governance.

As a leader, she brings a new voice and a fresh perspective, steeped in passion for service and backed by professional skills to take Lexington forward. Known for her pragmatic approach, independent thinking and ability to unite diverse groups, Vineeta champions innovative solutions that benefit all stakeholders. Her priorities include advancing the new high school project, addressing MBTA zoning impacts, and developing strategies to mitigate the tax rate.

Sudhir Ranjan

Sudhir Ranjan, PhD in Chemistry, is a Scientist by profession. He has lived in Lexington since 2011 with his wife, Jaya Vatsyayan, a Biotechnology professional with PhD in Life Science, and two children, Sujay (LHS 2017) and Janya (LHS 2023). He is currently serving as a Town Meeting Member from Precinct 8 and is seeking another three-year term. He has also served as a town meeting member from Precinct 1 (2018 - 2019).

The importance of making a difference in the community comes through a deep yearning and motivation. Sudhir believes that many town issues are intricately connected and can be solved through effective engagement in community affairs. His interest comes from his positive experience, conviction, and love of learning. While maintaining the highest-quality school system and preserving our cherished historical culture, he will continue to serve and assist non-partisanly to enhance overall community development while advocating for saving money before any tax increase is requested. With more involved citizens and out-of-the-box thinking, he believes we can keep Lexington vibrant, more affordable, and all-inclusive for our children and senior citizens. His priorities include infrastructure development, commercial satellite centers, and environmentally friendly sustainable development. Sudhir is keenly interested in exploring the possibility of increasing dining options through subsidized incubator restaurants.

Mona Roy

Mona Roy has dedicated decades to serving the Lexington community through leadership, advocacy, and engagement. She has lived here for over 25 years with her husband and two sons.

She is vice chair of the Lex250 Commission, iGIG executive board member , an active member of Lexington’s Collaborative Reform Group (CRG), and on IAL’s Core Team. She also founded SHAC’s Neurodiversity Subcommittee.

Her extensive community service includes chairing Lexington’s Human Rights Committee, six years on WDMS PTA, and leadership roles in SEPAC Board, Town-Wide Mental Health Task Force, and the Dyslexia Task Force. She has also co-chaired various school initiatives at Fiske and Bowman.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins (BME) and a partner at Handal & Morofsky, Mona is also a musician, teaches Bengali music, serves on multiple nonprofit boards, and is part of the drafting team for MA HB2271/SD1289, An Act to Promote Comprehensive and Inclusive Curriculum.

Bindu Vyas

Bindu Vyas, is a retired professor of Business and Management and a certified Instructor of Yoga, Meditation, Stress Management, and Resilient Youth Program. As a tenured professor she taught Strategy and Management classes, served as an academic advisor, and performed duties as faculty advisor for student organizations. 

Currently, she is working in the field of Mind Body Medicine and Lifestyle Management. She serves on the board of Indian Circle of Caring Inc., USA. As a director of the non-profit organization, she assists the organization as it works to shape a collective future, to build a strong community that is caring and courageous, and to create hope, love and joy. She is committed to serving the community and serving the environment. She supports policies that are environmentally friendly, fiscally responsible, improve the quality of the lives of our elderly and focus on the education of our young.

She has a Ph.D. In Business and Management.
