Ekal Vidyalaya NE chapter is delighted to confer the first ever “Kamlesh Dang Award” for Outstanding Youth Volunteer to Rishabh Tole.

Rishabh Tole is a high school senior at Xaverian Brothers High School, Westwood, MA. Rishabh has been an Ekal Youth Leader and has been very active in conceptualizing and executing several fund-raising projects for Ekal USA. Rishabh organized a singing competition in Boston for youth in the New England Region. A very accomplished singer, Rishabh was able to organize the competition for different age groups and raised over $10,000, an amount that has never been raised earlier by any of our youth leaders.

Rishabh conducted a class on Python for the youth in the New England region and raised over $3000.

Rishabh is a brilliant student and as captain of his school’s Robotics team introduced the use of cameras for position location. He has a broad range of interests and is very versatile. Rishabh is designing a device for the visually impaired. It is a tactile device that can be used to navigate 2-D maps by people who have Dyslexia. Rishabh is working with his township to design a sensor system that can measure the levels of sedimentation in storm drains so that they can be cleaned and maintained in a timely fashion in order to avoid to flash floods.

This summer Rishabh worked at Ekal as an intern. He worked to identify gaps in Ekal’s donor relations process and develop solutions to address these gaps. Specifically, he wrote software to automate sending notices to volunteers, detailing a script for emailing and calling donors to thank them and later notify them of exactly how and where their funds were used. The software generated personalized call/email scripts based on the nature of each donation and compiled them into notices for the volunteers. His research showed that thanking donors within 48 hours of their donation makes them significantly more likely to donate again. By automating the process of generating and distributing personalized thank-you scripts, we aimed to ensure that every donor receives timely and meaningful appreciation as well as specific information about how exactly their funds were used.

Brilliant, hardworking, and enterprising, Rishabh has a strong sense of community service and is endowed with a giving spirit. As an Ekal Youth leader for the past couple years, he has raised considerable funds for Ekal through his Manch Pravesh and organizing Ekal Sa Re Ta Re for two years in a row. Rishabh always brings his energy as a youth volunteer at all Ekal events, and motivated and cultivates more youth volunteers to step up.

Ekal NE chapter is so grateful to our Chairman Emeritus Puran Dang Ji & Kamlesh Dang ji for always encouraging and inspiring us by their leadership and their generosity. This prestigious award epitomizes the values they have imparted through their life, and it is an honor for us to be able to acknowledge and recognize a young man who is walking in their footsteps.
