On behalf of UIANE, we hope you all had a happy and colorful Diwali.

Thank you to all who attended UIANE Diwali event on Sunday 11/3/24 from 3-7pm at Newton South High School.

The program started with beautiful track with mantras chanted by students of Manisha Chowdhary, followed by Diwali shlokas by Newton Balvihar kids and captivating bhajan and aarti by Madhu Mathur Anand surrounded by UIA board and volunteers.

The cultural program started with a blast and with our emcees Rakashi Chand and Vikas Divya Selhi introducing all the items while the audience enjoyed the amazing and thrilling Diwali extravaganza.

Thanks to all the participants, parents, family members, friends and choreographers Kiran Khuchroo, Rajni Madan, Monica Thanawala, Samriti Bhambi, Sanchi, Shivanee, Anu, Bhuwan, Ryan Giri, Mona Kathak, Shubham Misra from Arya Dance Academy, Payel Ghatak, Komal Mohapatra, Manisha Chowdhary, and Triveni Dance School, who have worked so hard to prepare for this function and present their vibrant items for our cultural program.

The UIA board invited our special guest Mayor of Newton Ruthanne Fuller on stage and was recognized with a SAFA and a beautiful shawl by our life members and Newton residents Dr. Chander Kapasi and Dr. Ony Kapasi. They also recognized dedicated workers Parvin K Khetarpal, Anil Sood, and Sudershan Sharma with beautiful muffler,  President Neela Gandhi with SAFA, and muffler to incoming President Aanch Jain, We also had special guests Abhishek Singh, who was presented with SAFA, and Anand Sharma who shared few words about what they are doing in the community to try to get Diwali a holiday and the Indian Consulate in Boston.
