Press Release 10/04/2024 Dr. Chander Mukhi Kapoor Kapasi is a distinguished preventive medicine specialist with over 57 years of experience. She was recently honored with 'Clayton-Moser Distinguished Service Award' from Harvard University for her significant, long standing volunteer service to the University. Born in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India, she excelled academically and in extracurricular activities before pursuing her medical degree at Lady Hardinge Medical College and completing a master's in public health at Harvard University. Professionally, she has held various significant roles, including serving as medical director for mobile clinics in Kenya and later becoming the CEO of Prevention Pro Medical Center in Massachusetts. Dr. Kapasi was a pioneer in the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), being the first woman to chair its Board of Trustees and to lead its Political Action Committee. She has actively contributed to women's health initiatives and charitable foundations and served as the chair of AAPI Charitable Foundation. Dr. Kapasi has been instrumental in fostering community ties through organizations like the Indian Association of Greater Boston, where she was the first woman president. Her advocacy has focused on supporting international medical graduates and improving women's leadership and health issues.
