Press Release 09/05/2024 AIM for Seva, Boston Chapter Presents Agre Pashyami: The Divine in Front of Me This year's performance is a classical ballet on the avatars (incarnations) of Vishnu and includes the Bharatanatyam, Mohiniaattam and Krishnaattam kali dance styles. Based on the Narayaneeyam penned by Sri Narayana Bhattathiri, the ballet has been choreographed by Smt. Anita Guha, with concept and narration by Sri Dushyanth Sridhar. It has received rave reviews in India and promises to be a memorable event. Established in 2000, AIM for Seva is a 501 (c) (3) registered non-profit organization that supports poor tribal and rural children in India to finish high-school education. Our mission is to transform rural India one child at a time. AIM for Seva pioneered the concept of Free Student Homes (FSH) with a holistic approach to provide underprivileged rural children with lodging, nurturing care, nutritious meals, healthcare, after-school coaching and extra-curricular resources, thus enabling them to complete their high-school education. We have successfully reduced the drop-out rate by 90%, with 80% of our students going on to pursue higher education or secure employment. AIM for Seva has been given Four Stars (their highest rating) by Charity Navigator for seven years in a row based on our record of reaching over 95% of donations for student support. Support from donors like you enables AIM for Seva to run 190 projects in rural and tribal India including 101 student homes, eight schools and six health care facilities, to educate and support over 9,500 students from 2,700 villages across 17 states. Since 2013, our Boston Chapter has raised over one million dollars for this worthy cause. We have adopted four student homes in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala and provide all funding for their operating expenses. A donation of $500 supports a child in a chatralaya for one year. While we request you to sponsor one or more children, any donation is welcome to support their education. Please note that we do not sell tickets; instead we provide free passes to all donors. If a $500 sponsorship is not possible, we request you to at least donate $50 for meeting one student’s FSH expenses for one month. Our goal is to support 350 students this year. Registration for Agre Pashyami begins at 5 PM, with snacks and social time before the program. We continue the tradition of providing a free vegetarian dinner after the performance. Please go to Boston Chapter (aimforsevausa.org) to donate and RSVP for the program. You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
