Mata Ki Chowki Kirtan At The Shivalaya Temple

The Shivalaya Temple of Greater Boston, MA organized Mata Ki Chowki Kirtan on Saturday July 27, 2024 with hall full of devotees who came with utmost devotion to pay their respects to Ma Durga through their prayers. Chowki is a devotional program done on happy occasions such as engagements, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or during Ganapati and Navratri festivals. It is done especially during the evening time, for 3 hours on any day of the week from 7pm onwards to 10pm.

The program began with Ganapati, Navagrah and Mata Ji's Pooja followed by lighting Mata Ji's Akhand Jyoti and offering of a colored Chunni to Mata Rani along with coconut, flowers and fruits. The benefits of Mata Ki Chowki includes: 1) Devotees prayers are answered, 2) Creates a positive environment where all the devotees sing praises in harmony, 3) Worshippers are blessed with peace and prosperity, 4) Ensures a long and healthy life, 5) Performing it one day before marriage ensures prosperity as well as fertility.

The Bhajans program began with Ganapati, Hanuman Ji and Mata ki Bhents followed by Mata Ji ki Aarti, Vishnu Aarti and Shanti Path. Mr. Parphool Kumar and team from Long Island, New York was invited as a special Bhajan singer and Kirtankar. He sang aloud the glory of Ma Durga and charged the atmosphere with divine adoration. Many devotees also sang Bhajans with him and obtained double promotion as they derived joy and distributed joy.

On Sunday, July 28, 2024 evening, many devotees listen to celestial preaching and songs in Amrit Vani program - A treasure of nectarous utterances that will immortalize anyone who reads and recites this song with faith and reverence. Mahesh and Mohit Mathur family sponsored the event.

On both days, after Maha Mangalarati, all the devotees were served with swadishta Maha Prasadam. Mr. Vikas Sethi thanked all the sponsors, volunteers, and devotees for their active services and generous support to the temple

Vinod Chawla Ji told the reporter that he realized that there is nothing greater than Bhajans. They are filled with eternal bliss and demonstrate oneness when innumerable voices join in uttering the name of Ma Durga.
