Maha Ganesh Puja with 1008 Coconut Breaking Ritual

On the completion of 13 years of Sri Siddha lalitha Peetham / Sree Vijaya Durga Kali Temple in Burlington, MA, we are celebrating Ganesh Maha puja, a ritual that consists of breaking 1008 coconuts for peace and prosperity of the community we live in.
The puja starts with worship of Ganesha with Punyahavachanam, Akkurarpanam and Ganapathi Sahasranama Archana with the procession of the chariot of lord Ganesha. Breaking coconuts signifies fulfillment of activity and an offering to Ganesha as Maha Naivedyam. All the devotees will be participating in breaking the coconuts. Other priests from the local community will be joining as well. Anyone can participate in the ceremony as the festival recognizes Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima event to Lord Ganesh.
Please DO NOT BRING coconuts. Temple has ordered them all. This is an outdoor event in the parking lot. Kindly bring your own headgear. Chairs and Water available.
