LQ Baithak Presents A Hindustani Classical Violin Concert By Pt Milind Raiker

The final Baithak for the spring season, on Sunday June 23rd, is a Hindustani classical violin recital featuring Pandit Milind Raiker, accompanied on tabla by Prasanna Joshi, Please see below for details.

TIme: Doors open 3:30 PM, Concert Starts 4:00 PM

Location: 125 Prospect St., Framingham, MA 01701


(Note street parking is not allowed, please park only on the property, parking on the grass lawn is permitted and required)


Ticket: Free for Baithak members and students

Non Members: $25.00

Pandit Milind Raikar

Milind Raikar is one of the most renowned violinist in today's generation. He is mainly a disciple of Padmashri Pandit D.K.Datar and Padmavibhushan Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar. He has developed an unique 'Gayaki Style' of playing the violin which is melodious, soothing & soulful; close to a human voice.

Pt. Raikar has received several awards. Some of his prestigious awards include:

• Jaycee Outstanding Young Indian Award 1991

• Surmani Title Award 1991,

• Yuvonmesh Puraskar 2005.

• International Giants Award 2013

• Spandan Socio Award-2016

He was also conferred with the title 'SWARPRADNYA' by Hridayesh Arts, Mumbai in 2017.


Pt. Raikar has performed in Major Music Festivals of India such as -

• Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, Pune

• Hridayesh Festival, Mumbai

• 8 Prahar, Mumbai

• P.L Deshpande Sangeet Samaroh, Pune

• Pandit Jitendra Abhishek Mahotsav, Pune & Goa

• Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur Festival, Dharwad

• Ganasaraswati Mahotsav, Pune

• Annual Bharat Bhavan's Violin Festival, Bhopal.

He has not only performed in India but also abroad in USA, UK, Germany, Switzerland, France, Dubai, Muscat, and other East African countries.


Prasanna Joshi

Prasanna is an accomplished Tabla player who has learned Tabla from Talyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar and Pt. Omkar Gulwadi. He has accompanied visiting Hindustani musicians including Pts. Rajan and Sajan Misra, Pt. Milind Raikar, Shridhar Phadke and local artists in the Northeast area and Texas.
