Lec-Dem On Indian Music And AI And Baithak Featuring Hindustani Violin

MIT Sangam and LearnQuest Academy of Music invite you to join us on Saturday, June 15, at 4 PM at the MIT Wong Auditorium (MIT E51-115, 70 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA 02142) to witness Prof. Kaustuv Kanti Ganguli bridge the worlds of Indian classical music and cutting-edge AI technology. He will demonstrate the connection between AI and raga music through his sonorous singing and his deep insights on the profound art of music appreciation and wisdom.

Pandit Milind Raikar

Milind Raikar is one of the most renowned violinist in today's generation. He is mainly a disciple of Padmashri Pandit D.K.Datar and Padmavibhushan Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar. He has developed an unique 'Gayaki Style' of playing the violin which is melodious, soothing & soulful; close to a human voice.

Pt. Raikar has received several awards. Some of his prestigious awards include:

• Jaycee Outstanding Young Indian Award 1991

• Surmani Title Award 1991,

• Yuvonmesh Puraskar 2005.

• International Giants Award 2013

• Spandan Socio Award-2016

He was also conferred with the title 'SWARPRADNYA' by Hridayesh Arts, Mumbai in 2017.


Pt. Raikar has performed in Major Music Festivals of India such as -

• Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, Pune

• Hridayesh Festival, Mumbai

• 8 Prahar, Mumbai

• P.L Deshpande Sangeet Samaroh, Pune

• Annual Bharat Bhavan's Violin Festival, Bhopal.

He has not only performed in India but also abroad in USA, UK, Germany, Switzerland, France, Dubai, Muscat, and other East African countries.


Prasanna Joshi

Prasanna is an accomplished Tabla player who has learned Tabla from Talyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar and Pt. Omkar Gulwadi. He has accompanied visiting Hindustani musicians including Pts. Rajan and Sajan Misra, Pt. Milind Raikar, Shridhar Phadke and local artists in the Northeast area and Texas.
