Subramaniam since he was three years old, and gave his first performance at the age of seven. He has received awards and recognitions including the Ritz Icon of the Year Award, the Rotary Youth Award, and two Global Indian Music Awards. He was also awarded a ‘Golden Violin’ from Sri Jayendra Saraswati when he was 18. Along with his sister Bindu Subramaniam, Ambi runs the SaPa in Schools program, which teaches music to over 30,000 students across the world. He also co-hosts The SaPa Show on Sankara TV, which teaches global music to young children. Ambi is a youth delegate at the United Nations for the Sri Chinmoy Peace Meditation group. Pravin Godkhindi is an eclectic classical flautist, performing Hindustani music on the bansuri. He studied under his father Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi, an exponent of the Kirana gharana, as well as Carnatic mridangist Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma. His father has taught him Bansuri in Kirana Gharaana Gayaki style, but Pravin added the Gatkaari, or Tantrakaari style on his own. Sonorous blowing, control over the breath, elaborations of Raga with its aesthetic appeal, and extraordinary and skillful rendition of Layakaari are but a few salient features of his flute recital. Sowmiya Narayanan is a disciple of mridangam maestro Trichy Sri Harikumar and Ghatam Sri Krishnaswami. Sowmiya has accompanied leading vidhwans including Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, Dr. KJ Yesudoss, Dr Kadri Gopalnath, Smt Sudha Ragunathan, Dr Suryaprakash, Sri Unnikrishnan, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Sri Ronu Majumdar, Kamalakiran Vinjamuri and Dr Ambi Subramaniam. Amit Kavthekar is a disciple of Ustad Alla Rakha and is a leading tabla player in the US. Amit has toured extensively across the world to perform as a soloist and accompanist.
