North South Foundation (NorthSouth) is a nonprofit organization that has been conducting educational bees in the US since its inception in 1989, providing 30,000 higher education scholarships to talented and economically disadvantages students in India. Today, the foundation has expanded its offering from educational bees to coaching in STEM and Humanities subjects, preparation for SAT/ACT and various Math and Science competitions, Prep Clubs and much more.

MISSION: “Empowering Education and Changing Lives”

Each year NorthSouth conducts competitions in Math, Science, Spelling, Geography and Public Speaking across 90 chapters in the US. These contests happen in March and April. The Massachusetts chapter held its contests on April 27^th at the Fitchburg State University where over 200 students participated in various contests. It took over 40 dedicated youth and adult volunteers led by our technical lead, Dr. Meledath Govindan, and chapter director, Shylaja Narayanaswamy to run the contests smoothly.

We offered a couple of information sessions for parents during the contests. Dr. Anil Saigal conducted a very informative seminar on College Admission process. Mrs. Komal Rastogi presented a session on how to homeschool. Both sessions were very well received by the audience.

The National Finals will be held at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee during August 2-4, 2024.
