The Indian Medical Association of New England held its annual gala on Dec 2, 2023 at the Wakefield Sheraton. President Dr. Deepa Jhaveri  recounted the accomplishments under her tenure, presented the awards for the year and announced the new committee.  

The event was attended by over 100 people including the members of the community. “It has been a wonderful year,” said Dr. Jhaveri. In addition to the professional events, IMANE also hosted a talent competition called IMANE has got talent under the leadership of Dr. Jagruti Upadhyay and Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee. Several doctors had the chance to showcase their talent. 

The featured speaker for the evening was Dr. Maha Radhakrishnan, Group SVP and Chief Medical Officer at Biogen. She shared her  very unusual career path beginning from studying medicine in Russia. Later she talked about moving from medicine into the medical industry where she has worked on several drugs. Her talk was very inspiring. 

The event ended with the new committee under Dr. Sonali Khond taking the stage. A fabulous dinner and DJ dancing brough the evening to a beautiful close.
