Balle
Balle Balle! It’s that time of the year again, and Boston Bhangra, Inc is
hosting their 20th annual Boston Bhangra Competition on Saturday, December 2nd,
2023. Their past 19 competitions have all sold out, and were a phenomenal
success! They have consistently gotten the best bhangra teams in North
America and Canada to come and compete in Boston. This year will be no
different.
The Boston Bhangra Competition, or
called BBC for short, will be hosted on December 2nd, 2023 at the
iconic Strand Theatre in Boston. The historic venue in downtown Boston
adds a nice flair to the competition which is located at 543 Columbia Road in
Boston. The capacity is close to 1,400 people, and its very historic/grand
theatre that adds to the mystique of the competition. Boston Bhangra hopes to sell out for the 20th
straight year. Based on the demand and excitement from past years, that should
happen.
This year, the competition will have
teams from all over the US, and Canada! They will have teams from Vancouver
Canada, Calgary Canada, California, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Florida and
Boston! These teams have consistently done well in many competitions, and
they will once again make it difficult on the judges.
To add even more excitement to the
event, Boston Bhangra will have special performances by the legendary Miss
Pooja! She is the BIGGEST Bhangra female artist of all time and we’re SO
excited to host her this year! She has SO many hit songs like: Mera Mahi, Desi
Jatt, Seeti Maar Ke, Aashiq, Boli, Gidha Pao, Photo, and many more. Just
another reason to come to the event!
Shan-a-Punjab will be the food
vendor of choice as they will be serving snacks, dinner and drinks at the
venue, so come hungry so that you can enjoy their fantastic food!
Overall, this is a huge year for
the Boston Bhangra Competition, as they are bringing great global teams to a
historic theatre, with a world renowned Bhangra singer! This is not a show that you want to
miss! The tickets are very nominally priced between $20 to $40 so that
everybody can enjoy the show! This is very cheap for a show that will be
highlighted with more than 3 hours of exciting bhangra! Boston Bhangra really wants the community
from all walks of life to enjoy the show.
E3UK, Mass Cultural Council, Shan-A-Punjab,
Chardikla TV, Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation, Ritu Chawla are some
of the bigger sponsors that have helped to make this show a reality.
