FIA-New England's Vibrant Community Event: Indian Consular Visa Camp, Blood Donation Drive, and Voter Registration on October 21, 2023

The Indian-American community was filled with energy and enthusiasm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, as the Consulate General of India in New York, in partnership with the Foundation of Indian Americans (FIA) New England and VFS Global, organized a multifaceted community event. This event brought together people from various walks of life to participate in the Indian Consular Visa Camp, a Blood Donation Drive, and a Voter Registration Drive, all hosted at the 1 Lt. Charles W. Whitcomb School located at 25 Union St, Marlborough, MA 01752.

Indian Consular Visa Camp:
The Indian Consular Visa Camp was the centerpiece of the event, offering a range of consular services to the Indian community. Attendees had the opportunity to renew passports, apply for visas, and access various consular services with the efficiency and convenience of local support. The camp was a reflection of the consulate's commitment to providing accessible services to its citizens and the Indian diaspora.

Blood Donation Drive:
In a demonstration of community solidarity, the Blood Donation Drive saw a significant turnout. Local residents and participants from the Indian community donated blood to help save lives. The drive was a remarkable example of how a united community can contribute to a noble cause.

Voter Registration Drive:
With an eye on civic engagement and participation, the Voter Registration Drive provided individuals with the opportunity to register to vote. Volunteers were on hand to assist participants in the registration process, ensuring that their voices would be heard in the democratic process.

21 Free tables to Small Business Owners
The event resonated with a sense of compassion and community service, reflecting the rich cultural diversity and spirit of collaboration that defines the Indian community in New England. Attendees hailed from various backgrounds, coming together under one roof to access essential services, contribute to healthcare, and engage in the democratic process. CGI office along with Foundation of Indian Americans (FIA) New England and VFS Global, as partners in this initiative, played a pivotal role in organizing and facilitating the event, ensuring its success.
