Saheli awards scholarships to five bright scholars

Saheli is proud to announce that it is continuing with its scholarship initiative that started in 2020 and has awarded the following scholarships for the Saheli 2023 Scholarship Program to deserving South Asian girls to support their college education. The scholars selected for this year’s award showed remarkable academic accomplishments, extra-curricular participation, and community service.

Saheli is pleased to announce that Ragad Sarabi, Safa Shaikh, Jia Kumar, Hamna Mustafa, Sanjedha Haque, and Layla Ahmed were selected as recipients of the 2023 scholarship awards.

Saheli is a community-based domestic violence response organization in Massachusetts. It was founded in 1996 to empower South Asian women and their families to live safe and healthy lives.

The Saheli Scholarship Program reflects the organization’s deep commitment to support young women from South Asia in achieving their goals to effect positive change in the world, and aims to empower girls and women to become independent and educated citizens. Aditi Soni, Saheli’s Vice President of the Board, also a part of the Scholarship Committee, said, “I had the honor of meticulously reviewing the scholarship applications. Witnessing the passion and potential of these bright girls as they pursue their educational dreams is a testament to the impact of our nonprofit's mission. Congratulations to all the deserving scholars on their remarkable achievements!"
