Several Massachusetts schools are among the best public schools in America, according to new rankings from the education platform Niche.

Niche's 2024 Best Schools and Districts rankings include data on 94,058 public schools, 30,809 private schools and 12,192 school districts.

This year's rankings include 7,375 newly ranked public schools. Below are the top 25 public high schools in Massachusetts, according to Niche:

1. MA Academy For Math & Sciences, Worcester
2. Lexington High School

3. Weston High School

4. Boston Latin School

5. Brookline High School

6. Newton North High School

7. Belmont High School

8. Hopkinton High School

9. Newton South High School

10. Wellesley High School

11. Sharon High School

12. Westborough High School

13. Wayland High School

14. Dover-Sherborn Regional High School

15. Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School

16. Concord-Carlisle High School

17. Westford Academy

18. Winchester High School

19. Acton-Boxborough Regional High School

20. Sturgis Charter Public School

21. Needham High School

22. Cambridge Rindge & Latin School

23. Algonquin Regional High School

24. Westwood High School
25. Shrewsbury High School

The Academy For Math & Sciences ranked third nationally, while Lexington was 87th and Weston was 98th as Massachusetts schools in the top 100 across the country.

Niche said its rankings, now in the ninth year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.

The company said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they’re not familiar with yet.

As in previous years, the Best Schools rankings include categories for boarding, charter and magnet schools as well as schools for STEM and the arts among many others.
