Invisible Threads

The Support a Child Youth Council, or SACYC, in collaboration with Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America is hosting an interactive Bharatnatyam fundraiser, entitled Invisible Threads, on September 30th at 3 pm. Located at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, the fundraiser will provide snacks free of cost, as well as free entry.

Invisible Threads, created and performed by Sutikshna Veeravalli, explores relationships between individuals whose paths have not crossed. Veeravalli is a well known Bharatnatyam dancer, Carnatic Vocalist, community service leader and educator in the Boston area.

We invite the community to come and join this free event, spread the word and donate for a worthy cause.

Formed in 2018, SACYC is the youth led branch of Support a Child, a non-profit organization that aims to provide lodging, healthcare and education for underprivileged children across India. SACYC has been hosting fundraisers virtually for the past few years, however, this will be the first venture with an in-person event, with a goal to support at least 100 children.

The Council is an outcome of feeling a sense of privilege growing up in America while there are numerous children in India without as many educational opportunities. To fill this gap, the youth council came together to address the plight of their counterparts in India. The motto for the council is, "By the Youth, For the Youth"

Additionally, the SAC Youth Council is always interested in growing the team and is inviting High School students and Freshmen/Sophomore college students to join the group. To get involved, please write to sacyouthwing@gmail.com
