Press Release 08/17/2023 Forbes is one of the most celebrated
magazines of all time. Every year the magazine releases a list of people who
did exceptionally well in their field. Forbes has released the list of ’50 over
50′ and a total of 10 Indian American women featured in that list. The list
includes a total of 200 women divided into four groups of different categories
having 50 women each. These categories are lifestyle, impact, innovation and
investment. The highest number of Indian American
women featured in the investment list. Geeta Aiyar, founder and president,
Boston common Asset Management, Mala Gaonkar, SurgoCap Partners, Ranji
Nagaswami, Strategic Value Partners and Purnima Puri, HPS Investment Partners
made it to the list. On the impact list, Sarita Mohanty, Ghazal
Qureishi and S. Mona Sinha made it to the list. This list includes big names
like Gloria Steinem and Fanni Willis. Alka Joshi got featured on the lifestyle
list. This list also has huge names like Jamie Lee Curtis, Viola Davis etc.
Alka published her debut novel, ‘The Henna Artist’ in 2020 which became an
international bestseller. On the innovation list, Monica Jain,
founder of Fish 2.0 and Padmasree Warrior, former CTO of Cisco and Motorola,
found their place. Nobel laureate Carolyn Bertozzi is one of the highlights of
this list. Geeta Aiyer, 65, President & Founder, Boston Common
Asset Management A finance executive with over 30
years of experience and a passion for social justice, Geeta Aiyer founded
Boston Common Asset Management, a majority women- and employee-owned
sustainable investment firm, in 2003. She is the firm’s president and has AUM
of $5 billion. In 2015, Aiyer became the first
U.S. asset manager to serve on the board of UN PRI (Principles for Responsible
Investment), which encourages investors to adopt sustainable investing. It has been her aim to work on
sustainable and inclusive investment. Her portfolio has invested in Owens
Corning, a manufacturer of energy-saving insulation, roofing and fiberglass
composites. The firm has also invested in Carrier Global Corp, a global leader
in making sustainable building, air conditioning, and healthy solutions for
homes. In 2013, Aiyer received the SRI
Service Award, recognizing leadership and innovation in SRI (Sustainable,
