TANEUSA brings to the audiences in Boston a scintillating dance drama “ Gopika Krishna’ of the world-renowned Kuchupudi Art Academy and PadmaBushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam on August 27th at the David Mindess School in Ashland.

About the Artists:

Padmabhushan Dr.Vempati Chinna Satyam established the Kuchipudi Art Academy in the year 1963 and is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2004. This institution is dedicated to the promotion of the classical Kuchipudi style of dance. In addition to the 8000 and odd accomplished artistes the Academy has produced since its inception, one of its greatest accomplishments has been its ability to offer instruction in this great art with no cost to the student.

The Academy has gained recognition from the Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development as Category 1 Eminent Institution. Apart from imparting training in this art, the Academy has to its credit 180 solo items and 15 dance ballets composed by Dr. Vempati and these solo pieces and ballets were staged throughout the world.

About 30 artistes take part in these ballets including orchestra to be taken from India. This is the first time that Kuchipudi Art Academy is conducting a world tour covering all the major continents and leading cities.
